Proposed Amendment to the Blue Box Program Transition Plan – Revised Fee Setting Methodology for 2023-2025

Further to Stewardship Ontario’s October 19 posting and discussion at the Annual Steward Meeting, a change to steward fee setting is being considered.  If approved, the change would eliminate the need for stewards to report supply-to-market data to Stewardship Ontario in the future.

Stakeholders are encouraged to review details about the proposed Simplified Approach provided in a discussion paper and a Question & Answer document.

A webinar is scheduled for January 6, 2022, at 10 am ET.  Stewards will also be invited to complete a brief online survey on the proposal. Watch for webinar registration information and a link to the survey that will be emailed soon.

Comments and questions about the proposal can be submitted prior to the webinar to consultation@stewardshipontario.ca

Stakeholder feedback on the proposal is due no later than January 13, 2022.

If there is broad steward support for the proposal, it will be submitted to the Stewardship Ontario Administrator and to RPRA for approval. RPRA will undertake its own consultation prior to considering approval. We will strive to have the proposal considered before stewards need to begin preparing their 2022 reports.  If approved, stewards will not need to submit a data report to Stewardship Ontario in spring 2022.
