Blue Box Program Performance
This chart shows the quantity of Blue Box materials collected annually in Ontario by the current Blue Box Program that was approved by the provincial government in 2003. Our collection rates are expressed as a percentage of the quantity of materials sold into the marketplace by industry stewards. Performance is also shown in relation to the 2004 target approved by the provincial government (50%, rising to 60% in 2008).
Orange Drop Program (MHSW) Performance
Collection and [glossary_exclude]Diversion[/glossary_exclude]
We track the quantities of hazardous or special materials that our stewards sell into the marketplace. Our performance is measured against annual provincial collection and diversion targets. We are also accountable for the accessibility of our Orange Drop Program—the number of sites where Ontario households can drop off nine categories of waste materials.
