Payments for the 2011 program year are due on a quarterly basis for the preceding three months, and payable in 25% increments on:
- April 30, 2011 – January to March 2011
- June 30, 2011 – April to June 2012
- September 30, 2011 – July to September 2011
- December 1, 2011 – October to December 2011
These payment deadlines apply to any stewards who are notified they are obligated on or before December 28, 2010. If you are notified that you are obligated later than December 28, 2010 then the payment deadlines are as follows:
After the first payment is made, the regular schedule of payments shall apply. Stewards will base their 2011 obligation on 2010 data for Designated Blue Box Waste. The de minimis exemptions (sales and tonnage-based exemption thresholds) are also based on the 2010 calendar year.
Under the de minimis exemption, you do not have to register or report or pay fees if you do not have $2 million in gross annual sales in Ontario in the data year. You do have to register and report, but you do not have to pay fees, if you had less than 15,000 kg of DBBW packaging and printed material in the data year.
Stewards that fail to pay fees as set out in the installment schedule (above) will be subject to penalties and interest charges. For more information, refer to the penalties and interests section of the Rules.
