Parks Program Information
Launched in 2011, the Parks Collection Program collects single-use propane cylinders at the locations where they are most likely to be consumed—park campgrounds. This pilot project began with 90 Ontario Provincial Parks and in its first year collected over 102,000 kilograms of propane cylinders. Orange Drop collection cages are situated in prominent areas around the parks and are collected for recycling by our approved transporters throughout the year. Parks are not a public drop-off site, and accepting from the general public requires an Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA).
We are not currently looking to expand this program by adding collection sites.
