New Campaign Encourages Ontarians to Get Busy Recycling Batteries

April 5, 2013

Stewardship Ontario has today launched an advertising campaign aimed at encouraging residents to recycle their used batteries.

As part of the Orange Drop Program, which collects hazardous or special waste, Stewardship Ontario has had a series of adverts produced that will appear on transit in the GTA, on billboards, in newspapers and on radio over the next three months, pointing residents to visit www.makethedrop.ca to locate their nearest drop-off site for batteries.

By recycling batteries, you are ensuring that the valuable metals and components in spent batteries can be reclaimed for re-use to make new metals, fertilizers and even new batteries, and with over 2,500 drop-off locations for single-use battery recycling across the province, there’s no excuse not to recycle your spent batteries.
