The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority has now confirmed that April 1, 2017 is the effective date for Automotive Materials Stewardship’s (AMS) Industry Stewardship Plan (ISP).
Over the coming weeks, you will be hearing from AMS and Stewardship Ontario (SO) as we work to ensure a smooth transition of the management of antifreeze, oil containers and oil filters to the new ISP. In advance of this, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for your participation in the Municipal Hazardous or Special Waste program and for playing a central part in helping to successfully recycle these automotive materials.
Upcoming webinar
AMS will be hosting a webinar early in the New Year to provide more details on the process for those wishing to exit Stewardship Ontario. Once the date is confirmed, stewards will be sent the webinar registration information.
If you have any questions in the interim, you can visit to the AMS website for resources from the previous webinar:

Stewardship programs in this province are integral in helping to divert waste from landfill and ensure materials are recycled and repurposed. We are looking forward to working alongside AMS to ensure a smooth transition for these automotive materials. Once again, we thank you for the dedication and commitment you have shown for ensuring the management of your products continues to provide Ontarians with successful recycling options.
