After beginning his career in the steel and transportation industries Scott entered food retailing as a Division Manager with the Ontario Produce Company in 1998. Since then he has had extensive management experience across Sobeys contributing in merchandising, corporate strategy, private label procurement, and shopper analytics roles. He was appointed Director, Sustainability in 2013 reporting to the senior vice president of Communications and Corporate Affairs. His current priorities include reducing food waste, expanding responsible sourcing and lowering Sobeys’ environmental footprint.
In addition to being on the Stewardship Ontario board where he chairs the Governance and Nominating Committee, Scott also sits on the boards of Partners in Project Green and PAC The Packaging Consortium. He is a member of the sustainability or environment committees of the Consumer Goods Forum, the Food Marketing Institute and the Retail Council of Canada.
Scott holds a Master’s degree in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo and is a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario. He joined Stewardship Ontario’s board in 2014.
